Baile Que has released their new EP, “DE AQUÍ A DÓNDE,” today via Super Artificial.
Made up of 5 tracks (4 originals and a remix of a single already released, the EP touches on themes like identity, the movement in CDMX, personal crises and relationships with people. All this with the sound characteristic of the project, based on distorted guitars, drums and hard, groove-filled bass, and huge synthesizers.
Track Highlight ‘Disco 54:’ The track comes in a tiny bit abruptly but makes up for it once the bass line and percussion hit. It’s upbeat, its groovy and it feels like if the Bee Gees were hard rock. The full energy at the roughly 1:50 mark give me extreme No Doubt and 90s garage rock vibes. The vocals don’t fully fit; I think they would be better with a little more oomph and emotion behind them but the echo-esque tones with the vocals help it match the rest of the song. I am a huge fan of the consistent upbeat tempo with the instrumentals, I found myself bopping my head and tapping my leg in line the entire time.
