‘Flash’ is a fresh, high-energy track that bridges the classic intensity of early 2000s nu metal with the relentless groove of today’s hardcore scene. With searing vocals that deliver an undeniable hook and crushing drop-D guitars that command attention, ‘Flash’ embodies an unmistakable Diamond Riot sound that executes adrenaline-pumping rhythms and an undeniable sense of urgency. Entirely self-produced and performed by 4 of LA’s young, dynamic up-and-coming players, ‘Flash’ offers a truly captivating track that perfectly conveys a feeling both reminiscent and fiercely modern.
The intro immediately gives me pop punk feels but more grungy than anything, which isn’t a bad thing. The vocals were not expected at first but they fit with the vibe very well. I think the guitar / bass riffing over each other is impressive and creative. The peppered dueling vocals is a nice change of pace and I enjoyed the grit and energy the vocals had behind them.
