Listen up, punks. DSM-5, Sweden’s d-beat destroyers, just unleashed “Elitism”, a raw, ripping track from their brand-new split LP “Östergötland Jawbreaker” – and yeah, it’s as brutal as it sounds. This beast of an album, released via the legendary Czech label Phobia Records, is a team-up with the equally ferocious VAROITUS. Expect pure chaos and riffs that’ll have your ears ringing for days.
Its a very 90s punk opening. Very grungy and very epic in what it takes to bring it all together to the full push when it does. I’m not sure how i feel about the abstract sounds in the background, but I’m glad they were just there for a little bit. Once the track fully comes in, its a nice punk / hardcore track that hits all the right spots for what it should be. I do enjoy the surf rock-esque solo in the bridge.
Straight outta Skärblacka/Kristinehamn, Sweden. Started off as project in 2021, came out as a furious, full force d-beat hardcore punk trio in 2022. Three became four during 2023 to get more energetic live shows, first LP came out the same year. 2024 the first tour in Europe was done.
