Heavy sounds. Moshpits. Stagedives. Highfives. Stories from the heart and about their beautiful city. German outfit Rivers Collide is here with their debut album, “Salt & Saviour,” out now, and we are highlighting their track, ‘Annihilation of Self.’
I like how the drums lead the song in the intro; when it comes to metal, it is so important to mimic the beats and progressions from the guitars / bass and the drums did an excellent job with that. I am a fan of the quick, electronica/synth riffing around 0:55 as it gives me a big Twilight Zone theme song vibe. The high-energy, consistent tempo with the instrumentals throughout keep my attention and is exactly what my body looks for. I personally prefer a higher-energy, fast paced song and this one does it for me.
